Pedorthic Services
Personalized assessment, handcrafted orthotics, bracing, footwear solutions and compression therapy.
Assessment
During your assessment, Danielle will evaluate your range of motion, gait, footwear and lower-limb biomechanics to better understand how your feet are functioning. Where appropriate, gait may be recorded electronically to help illustrate the findings. Recommendations are then tailored to your needs, activities and lifestyle.
Orthotics
Custom orthotics are individually designed devices worn inside your shoes to support and accommodate the feet, improve alignment, and reduce excessive stress on the lower limbs. Depending on your needs, orthotics may help improve comfort, mobility, and tolerance for everyday or recreational activities.
Compression Stockings
Medical compression stockings apply graduated pressure to the legs to help support circulation and manage swelling. The Foot Smith offers a range of compression levels, styles and sizes from established manufacturers, with professional measurement and fitting to help ensure appropriate comfort and performance.
Bracing
Bracing can provide support, improve stability, limit unwanted movement or help protect an injured or vulnerable joint. Based on your assessment and, where required, your physician’s diagnosis or prescription, Danielle can help determine an appropriate knee or ankle brace and ensure it is properly fitted.
Footwear modifications
Footwear modifications are changes made to shoes to improve fit, accommodate a foot condition or alter how forces are distributed during walking. Modifications may include lifts, wedges, rockers, stretching or other adaptations selected to suit the individual and their footwear.
